Frequently Asked Questions

I have participated in general toy drives in the past?  Why can't I now?
We have been very fortunate to receive strong community support and receive thousands of items.  We have found the toys that are donated do not always serve our needs at that moment.

We can no longer accept general toy donations.  Toys that come in through these drives are often not exactly what we need when we are dealing with complex medical needs and patients who have different development needs.  If your group still wants to provide physical toys, we do have an Amazon wish list that the Child Life staff updates regularly with our needs and we are very willing to accept those items.

How can I be sure my donation is going to be used to purchase these items?
Your generous donation goes directly to a fund that can only be used to purchase these items.  All donations are used to benefit children and families within the Child Life Program.

I want to visit patients - can I do this?
Due to both infection control and privacy issues, we do not allow donors to visit patient care areas or meet the patients and families.

Is there an opportunity for a photo at the hospital to share with my company, donors, etc?
Yes!  If you are with a company or organization that would like the opportunity to come to the hospital for a photo and meet and greet with hospital staff in the lobby of the hospital, please contact Zoey Kramer in the Foundation office at zoey.kramer@rwjbh.org.

If I want to send a check instead of donating online, where can I send it?
Checks can be made out to RWJUH Foundation and mailed to:
